I also train and supervise other Relationship and Psychosexual Therapists, both in the UK and worldwide. My ‘specialist subjects’ are relationship diversity, kink/BDSM, and sexuality/sexual fluidity.

GORDON BIRNIE
Relationship and Psychosexual Psychotherapist

Being an integrative therapist means I draw upon a variety of approaches that I blend to suit the needs of each individual or relationship.

My background has involved extensive work overseas, so I'm sensitive to cultural differences and welcome diversity in relationships and sexualities.

I welcome clients from all different backgrounds and lifestyles, kinky, non-monogamous, LGBTQIA+ etc.

I offer therapy for a wide range of psychosexual issues including erectile difficulties, rapid (premature) or delayed ejaculation, loss of desire and differences in desire between partners, and painful sex.

In relationships I can help you improve communication, get better at resolving conflict, overcome infidelity, explore non-monogamy, learn how to work with jealousy and insecurities, and face life’s challenges together.

I’m also very passionate about encouraging more men to seek therapy when facing difficulties in their relationships, which, in part, influenced my own decision to retrain as a therapist.
I’m a member of the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists and a Registered Member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT).

Online sessions with Gordon start at £75 for individual psychosexual therapy and £95 for relationship therapy.

CHARLIE JANES
Counsellor and Relationship Therapist

I originally trained as an Integrative Counsellor but soon realised that a great deal of my clients' difficulties were founded in their relationships, be it with partners, parents, siblings, friends or work colleagues. This led me to train as a Relationship Therapist.

I soon realised that a great deal of my clients’ difficulties were founded in their relationships, be it with partners, parents, siblings, friends or work colleagues, so relationship therapy was the natural progression for me.

My hope for all my clients is that they live, or learn to live in a way that is true to who they are, and that they are truly satisfied with. My aim for my therapy sessions is to foster an environment where my clients feel deeply supported, understood, and where they can boldly go on a journey of self discovery with no fear of judgment.

WINNIE HUGHES
Associate Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist

I’m passionate about creating a safe, non-judgmental space for folks to explore any complexities surrounding intimacy and relationships that they wish to bring.

And I’m deeply inspired by the belief that navigating the complexities of intimacy, desire, and connection is vital to our overall well-being.

I view relationships as mirrors that reflect our strengths and weaknesses, offering us opportunities for growth and self-discovery.

Before training as a psychosexual and relationship therapy, I worked for four years as an Occupational Therapist in the NHS. This experience allowed me to approach people holistically, understanding the profound impact that our daily activities have on our wellbeing and sense of identity.

Following this, I trained as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT), a modality that complements psychosexual and relationship therapy by focusing on the interplay between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

With eight years’ experience working in the NHS, I’ve had the privilege of supporting a diverse range of individuals. My work has included providing therapy for LGBTQI+ folks, individuals with neurodiversity, and those who have experienced trauma. My experience has shaped my understanding of the unique challenges and strengths that each person brings to therapy.

In addition to my CBT training, I have trained in Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I incorporate these approaches to help clients develop self-compassion, accept their experiences, and commit to actions that align with their values. My personal practice of mindfulness further enriches my therapeutic work, enabling individuals to tune in to themselves, which I believe is imperative for forming healthy, fulfilling relationships.

I strive to create a therapeutic space that respects the complexity of each individual’s journey, helping them to build stronger connections with themselves and others.

I’m a Student member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists.

Online sessions with Winnie cost £35 for individuals and £55 for couples. In-person sessions in Bristol cost £40 for individuals and £60 for couples.
